Lebus Lubusz LubuskieLubusz (Polish: województwo lubuskie) is an administrative province, region, or voivodeship, of western Poland. It borders on the Polish voivodeships of Western Pomeranian, Greater Poland, and Lower Silesia, and the Province of Brandenburg, Germany. Prior to the redrawing of borders and movement westward of Poland in 1945 the whole of the region was part of Germany. Lubusz (also known as: Lebus, Lubus, Lubuskie or Ziemia Lubuska) is a picturesque, relatively flat region with many beautiful lakes and forests. The region is rich in wildlife and an easily accessible and attractive vacation spot. Berlin is less than 100 km west, Sczcecin a similar distance north, and Poznan around the same distance east of central Lubusz. Popular vacation activities include: bird and nature watching; canoeing and kayaking; greenlaning; fishing; mushroom picking; walking; hunting; swimming; and visiting the many historic and interesting churches, castles and palaces the area has to offer.
